Ranch Songs

Caroline Whyte

Written during a year spent in a barn loft on a rural Alberta ranch, Whyte's debut EP, Ranch Songs traces the coming-of-age of a cowgirl caught between desire and destiny. Produced by award-winning songwriters Amelie Patterson and Brayden Bell, the record filters classic Americana themes through a fresh indie lens.

The Hollow - Live From the Floor

The way you can’t put down a good book, Whyte spent most days on the ranch with a guitar in hand, saddling up horses, riding through winding trails and watching the sun rise and set over a postcard Alberta horizon... A soft Americana voice, bridging classic country and a fresh indie-pop sound, Whyte brings to life the stories of her EP, preserving a pure country spirit throughout.” - Jessica Lee

Rocky Mountain Outlook

Sonically, “The Hollow” is as unadorned as it is powerful.”

With sparse, slow-burning acoustic instrumentation, layered with delicate harmonies and atmospheric textures, the track offers a hauntingly intimate meditation on identity, control, and the emotional toll of struggling with one’s sense of self...“The Hollow” becomes both a confession and a catharsis—capturing the fragile space between collapse and recovery.”

About

Caroline Whyte is an emerging singer-songwriter whose haunting, delicate voice is shaped by the rugged landscapes of the Canadian Rockies. Hailing from Canmore, AB, her music carries the dust and dreams of the modern West. She draws traditions rooted in classic Americana storytelling with a contemporary pop edge.

Her debut single, The Hollow, earned placement on editorial playlists like Amazon Music’s Fresh Indie which was followed by her debut EP, Ranch Songs on Sept. 12 2025. Blending cowboy poetry with the introspection of artists like Phoebe Bridgers, she weaves timeless themes of heartbreak, resilience, and redemption into songs that drift between wide-open spaces and intimate confessions.
